SUNRAYSIA drivers will soon have to negotiate three sets of traffic lights in just 400 metres along one of the district’s busiest thoroughfares.
A third set of traffic lights have now been installed in 15th Street, between Deakin Avenue and San Mateo Avenue, at the Centro Plaza entry closest to the Gateway Tavern, presumably as a result of the increased traffic expected with the Big W development.
At present drivers travelling along this stretch of road need to stop at a pedestrian crossing managed by traffic lights not long after exiting Deakin Avenue.
Once the new traffic lights are operational, drivers may have to stop again within 200 metres before again facing traffic lights at the intersection of San Mateo Avenue and 15th Street.
