Ruby Hair Design owner Jaki Dimasi will take on the nation’s best hairdressers in the L’Oreal Colour Competition next February.

LOCAL hairdresser Jaki Dimasi has earned a spot in the National L’Oreal Colour Competition in February, 2018.

The owner of Ruby Hair Design on Eighth Street competed in the Victorian region competition in Melbourne this week, and came away with a top three finish in the State.

The competition was suggested to Ms Dimasi by her L’Oreal business consultant, Wendy Turk, and L’Oreal colour technician Aaron Middleton, as a good way to promote her business.

Thousands of entries are submitted from around the country and from these, 20 people from each of the five regions in Australia are invited to compete.

Ms Dimasi said she is looking forward to next year’s final.

“My hair model Daisy will have to follow me to the grand final, it’s one of the requirements that we use the same model,” she said.

“The guidelines for the cut and colour were modern contemporary that is wearable, and Daisy was very happy with the result.”

The L’Oreal Colour Competition has been running for 62 years and is contested in 55 countries.

“The winner of the Australian final will head to the world final and compete against the other nations, which is really exciting.” Ms Dimasi said.
