VICROADS will today (Monday, October 2) begin a number of roadwork projects in Mildura, with drivers advised to factor delays into their journeys.
The program of road resealing works begins today on the Calder Highway between Ouyen and Irymple, and on the Mallee Highway near Murrayville.
Repairs to the Sturt Highway from Mildura to the border will follow from tomorrow (Tuesday, October 3).
Roadworks will be undertaken at the Calder Highway from Monday, October 2, to Thursday, October 5, south of the Potter Road intersection, north of Ouyen, at three locations between Hattah and Carwarp and at three locations between Red Cliffs and Irymple.
Works continue at the Sturt Highway from Tuesday, October 3, to Friday, October 6, west of the Meridian Road intersection, at two locations west of Lake Cullulleraine and west of the Meringur N Road intersection.
These roadworks kick off a number of projects taking place in the coming months aimed at reducing the level of deterioration of the road surface. VicRoads is aiming to not only create a smoother and safer road, but also help preserve the longevity of these highways.
Access to local businesses and homes will be maintained, but traffic management, including reduced speed limits, will be in place to ensure the safety of road users and road workers.
