BARRY Plant Mildura has again shone through raising $2500 for the Mildura branch of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Barry Plant’s marketing manager Tania Venneri said that every year the company conducted a fundraiser in addition to a co-ordinated effort by the real estate group across the agency network.

“Wishtober is Barry Plant’s fundraiser for the whole company. Each year a percentage of all of the sales within the group during October are donated to Make-A-Wish,” Tania said.

“Most years that is around a $100,000, this year due to COVID and with the majority of our offices located in Melbourne, that wasn’t possible to achieve, but nonetheless $20,000 was donated.

“In Mildura we also do our own fundraising throughout the year, holding lunches, breakfasts and raffles and we also have a little ‘tuck-shop’ that the staff can purchase all sorts of goodies from – the proceeds of which go to Make-A-Wish.

“Jenny Bowd, our office receptionist, also made some lovely face-masks which she sold for $5 each to the staff and to people around town, which raised almost $400.” Tania said all of the activities receive great support from the generous staff in their office who always enthusiastically dug deep for a worthy cause.

“In addition to our wonderful staff, I would also like to thank the local businesses for their amazing support and the items they donate for our raffles and lunches throughout the year, Jenny and I are very appreciative of their support, especially during this year of COVID-19!”

The cheque was presented to vice-president and fundraising coordinator of Mildura Make-A-Wish Samantha Freckleton who said the support from Barry Plant each year was enormously appreciated.

“Barry Plant are huge supporters of our local branch which we are very grateful for,” Samantha said.

“Their generous donation will benefit the three children we have on our books at the moment and I think we may have another child coming in very soon – these are kids who need us.”
