Shey named our third Car and Cash finalist

THE third finalist in the Mildura Weekly’s 2020 Car and Cash Giveaway has been named, with Robinvale resident Shey Brigante to take her place at the final draw on Saturday, May 16.
She now has one of what will be nine chances of winning a brand new Toyota Yaris courtesy of Mildura Toyota.
Shey also pocketed a $250 shopping spree at participating businesses, and said she was “rapt” to be a winner.
“I came into Totally Workwear (TWW) to purchase a couple of work shirts for my husband Louie,” she said.
“We run a fruit block in Robinvale and I usually come into TWW when we need work clothes.
The team at TWW made entering the competition very easy and gave me hand doing it.”
Shey immediately took advantage of her good luck and purchased another work shirt for her husband!
The 2020 Car and Cash Giveaway is fast becoming the most successful yet, with entries and local interest in the competition at an all-time high.

Jan’s in the running for a brand new car

MILDURA South’s Jan Robertson has been named the second finalist in the Mildura Weekly’s Car and Cash Giveaway, and now has a one-in-nine chance of winning a brand new Toyota Yaris courtesy of Mildura Toyota.

The 63-year-old secured her place in the final draw, set to take place at the Sunraysia Farmers Market on Saturday, May 16, after shopping at Sunraysia Bread & Butter Deakin Avenue.

“My brother Trevor did the shopping at Sunraysia Bread & Butter for our elderly parents,” she said.

“My mum gave me the entry forms to fill out on line and even though Trevor did the shopping mum said I get the car!”

“I was taken by surprise when I got the news,” Jan said. “It was a welcome surprise.

Week 1 Winners

Albert is first Car and Cash finalist!

WENTWORTH retiree Albert ‘Ned’ Kelly is still pinching himself after being named the first finalist as part of the 2020 Mildura Weekly Car and Cash Giveaway.

Albert was drawn from a pool of thousands of entrants following the giveaway’s first week, and now has a one in nine chances of driving away with a brand new Toyota Yaris courtesy of Mildura Toyota. Albert also received a $250 shopping spree as part of his prize, which can be spent at any participating Car and Cash Giveaway business.

A regular shopper at Richie’s IGA store in Wentworth, Albert said that he had entered the Car and Cash Giveaway after shopping online with the assistance of his carer, Di Smith.

“While winning the car would be great, the $250 will come in extremely handy when shopping online for groceries at Richie’s,” he said.

Now housebound due a collapsed lung and having to be connected to an oxygen tank, Albert relies on carers to help him with home duties.

“They come in twice a week to give me hand around the house and help me with the shopping, I am ‘stoked’ they remembered to enter me into the Car and Cash competition!” Albert said.

“I keep myself busy around the house and especially enjoy painting garden gnomes and other garden statues. It gives me something to do and a reason to get out of bed in the morning.”

Two $100 shopping sprees were also awarded as part of the week one draw, with Zoe Crozier, who shopped at Spotlight, and Dominic Petrolo, who shopped at the Irymple Post Office, the lucky recipients.
