Mildura RSL president, Gary Pearce, is joined by Mildura Mayor Simon Clemence during Sunday’s Remembrance Day services at Henderson Park.

THE sun was shining brightly for Sunday’s Remembrance Day ceremony at Henderson Park, Mildura, which commemorated the centenary of the Armistice which silenced the guns in World War 1 on November 11, 1918.

More than 600 people attended the service, which commenced with a welcome from Mildura RSL general manager Kim Archibald, who introduced the Club’s president Gary Pearce to conduct the formalities, which included the traditional reciting of the Ode of Remembrance, followed by the last post, then a minutes silence.

At the conclusion of the proceedings, the official laying of wreaths on the cenotaph took place, the first of which were placed by Mr Pearce, who was joined by newly elected Mildura Mayor Simon Clemence.
