THE Liberal Member for Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell has welcomed the announcement the Parliament of Victoria will reconvene on Thursday, ensuring an opportunity for scrutiny of government as well as the chance to highlight important issues in her electorate.
Premier Daniel Andrews recently announced that both Houses of the Parliament will sit tomorrow April, 23, albeit in a different format because of the current rules around social distancing due to COVID-19.
“The Andrews Labor Government must deliver the funding to complete vital projects throughout my electorate, investments that are crucial to the economic recovery of our region following the COVID-19 lockdown,” Ms Lovell said.
Ms Lovell will use the day to highlight the many local projects still in need of State Government funding. Investment in infrastructure will be crucial to providing jobs and underpinning the economic recovery of our region following the prolonged disruption to the economy during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Local Mildura projects in need of State Government investment include:
• The Mildura South Regional Sporting Precinct.
• The Murray Darling Basin Rail project to achieve completion of all 5 stages.
