Nichols Point cricketer Annie O’Rourke has claimed the Sunraysia Cricket Association Women’s Competition Most Valuable Player Award.

O’Rourke has had a magnificent season for the club’s Green Team; accumulating 224 runs over the course of the season with an average of 28.

As a bowler she took 18 wickets at an average of 5.56. She took one catch and recorded a run out during the season.

O’Rourke was also named captain of the Women’s Team of the Year and took home the SCA Women’s Bowling Average Award.

The SCA Les Innes Medal was awarded to Shacaya Thomas, of Workers Gol Gol Cricket Club.

Thomas had a consistent year with both the ball and bat – finishing the season with 23 wickets and a total of 558 runs at an average of 37.20.

He also claimed the First Division Batting Aggregate and was named the opening batsman in the First Division Team of the Year.
