SOLID progress is being made on the site of the former Mildura Powerhouse Station which is undergoing a transformation that will see it turned into a vibrant cultural, community and commercial hub for locals and visitors to enjoy.

The Powerhouse operated from the 1920s through to the 1950s providing power to the town until the SEC – State Electricity Commission, took over Mildura’s electricity supply.

Council is investing $9.156million to transform the historic Powerhouse building, adjacent car park and its immediate surrounds.

The goal is to create a vibrant cultural, community and commercial hub for locals and visitors to enjoy.

The project is being funded by the Federal and State Governments and the Mildura Rural City Council, with construction being undertaken by Rork Projects.
