New MBH Interim CEO Adam Stevenson, right, with Victorian Minister for Health Jenny Mikakos and Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews.

ADAM Stevenson has been appointed Mildura Base Hospital (MBH) Interim CEO.

Mr Stevenson is a Chartered Accountant, and has held the role of Director Corporate Services at MBH since January 2016.

He has worked closely with outgoing CEO Julia Morgan in that time, with Ms Morgan announcing her resignation late last week.

Ms Morgan will finish in the role on December 20, with Mr Stevenson to commence as Interim CEO on Monday, December 23.

Mildura Base Hospital will transition back to public management over the next nine months, with Ramsay Health, the current operators, saying a strong priority of the transition will be ensuring the extensive support services currently provided to the hospital are established locally– particularly IT and finance.

It is expected that Mr Stevenson’s extensive knowledge of corporate services in the hospital, and his already-established relationships with the Executive team, hospital managers, doctors and key contacts at the Department of Health and Human Services, puts him in the best position to lead the hospital through the transition.
