MILDURA Police on Tuesday responded to information they received, stating that two removalists identified as being from Sydney, were unloading household contents at an address in Irymple.
Given the gravity of the issue, police attended the scene and it is understood that as a result, the two people concerned were cautioned and required to be tested for COVID, before being sent back to NSW.
The ‘Weekly contacted VicPol media for further comment, however they weren’t able to add anything further in regard to the matter.
The incident follows the recent case of two Sydney removalists who were infectious with COVID and travelled via Melbourne to South Australia. This largely contributed to the current outbreak in Melbourne, which led to the lockdown and the Victorian Government placing a ban of removalists travelling to the state.
