SUNRAYSIA Football and Netball League (SFNL) clubs are still offering football and netball training for youngsters despite there being no season.

COVID-19 restrictions forced a proposed modified junior SFNL competition to be abandoned, however multiple clubs want to ensure there is some form of sport and exercise available for youngsters in the region.

Merbein Football and Netball Club is one such club, and president, Toney Hurley, said they will support their juniors who wish to continue training.

“This will continue on Tuesday and Thursday while numbers are good,” he said.

“Full credit to all our coaches who are more than happy to give up their time as well. Basically we are being governed by their wishes.

“It’s important for our players and their families to have this outlet and something to look forward to each week.”
