Echoes of Pink Floyd − a tribute band to one of rock’s most iconic groups − will be performing a stunning show at the Mildura Arts Centre next Saturday, July 17, at 8pm as part of their ‘A Journey Through Time’ tour.

Accompanied by a light show, video footage on a big screen behind them, and local kids for ‘Another Brick in the Wall’, the band will bring the music of Pink Floyd to life for the audience.

“It’s a great spectacle. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to do them (Pink Floyd) justice, do it right and do it with respect,” lead singer, Matt Goodluck said.

“We’re starting at songs from the 60s and then traveling all the way through to when the band ended in the 90s so we’re trying to cover as much ground as possible.
“We’ll play all the big hits but we also want to play a few obscure tracks that the hardcore fans love as well.”

Matt only joined the tribute band, which was founded in 2009, a few years ago but has seen their popularity rise.

He says the passion the band members have for Pink Floyd comes through in their performances and is something audience members connect with.

“We’re all massive Pink Floyd fans and we wouldn’t be able to do this otherwise,” Matt said.

“To now be able to travel around the country and perform is amazing, and wherever we go it’s lovely to see the passion that comes from fans.
“We’re very fortunate to be able to stay in beautiful towns like Mildura, where we’ve now performed a few times. We’re getting to see different parts of Australia that we usually wouldn’t be able to.”

The band are looking forward to the show in Mildura, and the audience can expect a dazzling show and a memorable experience.

The challenge of performing such loved songs and pleasing the crowd is something Matt and the rest of the band members are well-prepared for.

“Getting through the show at a high standard is a challenge we all like to rise to and we all enjoy trying to accomplish that challenge,” Matt said.

“We have a lot of fun performing these shows and pleasing the crowd.
“One of the most common things we hear from people is that our shows take them back to a time and place, to a particular moment in their life where this music was important to them.
“We really love being able to give the audience something special like that.”
