A WOMAN has been arrested following an alleged attempted carjacking in Mildura this morning (February 5).

According to police, the alleged incident occurred at 2.20am when a 26-year-old woman, who had been sitting inside her car out the front of her Ashwood Court home, was approached by a 30-year-old woman.

The alleged car-jacker reportedly approached the car window, and asked the victim if she wanted an icy pole. When the victim declined, the woman allegedly produced a knife and asked her to get out of the car.

The victim beeped the horn to attract attention before running from the vehicle. The alleged car-jacker then reportedly got inside the car.

Police were called, arriving within minutes and arresting her at the scene.

The 30-year-old woman of no fixed place of address is currently assisting police with their enquiries. The investigation is ongoing.
